What our members say about us
EVR made me realize I can call myself a runner, no matter how slow I am.
My first experience was at the track. I've gone to other groups track workouts and people were not very friendly but everyone was so nice and welcoming regardless of my pace.
I used to run because it was good exercise, but I always said how much I hated it. Then I joined EVR, and I actually like running so much that I even miss it!
I love to run with EVR because I love all the advice, the different exercise (track, trail, regular...) and the different levels.
Joining EVR 6 years ago when I moved to the valley was the best decision I made. EVR is like my second family and I have become such a stronger runner through their amazing advice and encouragement!
I am so thankful for the group. EVR keeps me motivated. I have learned so much. I look forward to the speed training Cathy coaches every year that has helped so much. Glad I joined.
My second time around with EVR! Joined originally in 2004 to train for my first marathon. Reconnected with the group in 2012 and have truly enjoyed training with and getting to know the EVR crew (again). So much encouragement in the group and I'm motivated by you all to push myself farther in my love of running!
When I moved from the Washington DC area to the East Valley, EVR made me feel welcome from day one.
Since I am part of EVR I love running more, because I feel more motivated and more inspired! I didn't have much experience running long distances but EVR does, and they share that experience with everyone all the time. They make everybody feel they are part of a family not just part of a group!!
Yes, the main point is to run. But I really enjoy the social interaction with EVR members on those runs. I have observed that fitness-minded people also come with other qualities I admire. That has certainly been true of the EVR members I have come to know.
